Limitless is a 2011 American thriller film that was directed by Neil Burger and features Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, and Robert De Niro. The movie follows Eddie Morra who discovers the power of brain enhancing drugs.

This kind of drug sounds similar to Adderall which many people use in their daily lives for things like studying or working late at night. Lots of students can relate! It’s also not too different from Ritalin either, but there are certainly other kinds out there as well. My first thought after watching it was are there any there Movies Like Limitless.

The movie stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie as con artists who have been partners for years, but things take an odd turn when they meet someone new – Jess (played by the beautiful Kate Bosworth).

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a 2004 American romantic science-fiction drama film that was directed by Michel Gondry. The movie stars Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, and Kirsten Dunst.

Inception is a 2010 science fiction film that was written, directed, and co-produced by Christopher Nolan.  The star of the movie is Leonardo DiCaprio who plays Dom Cobb – an extractor or thief for hire with expertise in industrial espionage. He can steal anything from anywhere by entering people’s dreams. Although he has left his criminal past behind to be with his kids, Cobb gets dragged back into doing jobs when Saito approaches him about committing one last job of inception which requires him to travel beyond borders to plant an idea inside someone’s mind rather than stealing something physical like money or jewels.

 

Interstellar

Next place on the Movies Like Limitless belongs to Interstellar. Interstellar is a 2014 science fiction film that was written and directed by Christopher Nolan. Its star, Matthew McConaughey plays Cooper – an ex-NASA test pilot turned farmer who must leave his family to take on the dangerous task of traveling through a wormhole in space to find another habitable planet for humanity while being aided by benevolent beings called “The three laws” or robots.

 

The Matrix

The Matrix is a 1999 science fiction film that was written and directed by The Wachowski Brothers – who also played the roles of Larry and Andy.  It stars Keanu Reeves as Neo or Mr. Anderson an office worker whose world changes when he discovers that his reality is actually that of a computer simulation created to keep human beings docile while machines harvest their bioelectricity for energy after destroying the earth at some point in the distant past.

 

Minority Report

Minority Report is a 2002 science fiction film that was directed by Steven Spielberg. Its cast includes Tom Cruise as John Anderton – an inspector with the Pre-Crime police unit that arrests future murderers before they commit their crime based on foreknowledge provided by three clairvoyants called “precogs”.

 

Lucy

Transcendence is a 2014 science fiction film that was directed, written and produced by Wally Pfister.  It stars Johnny Depp as Dr. Will Caster – who’s an artificial intelligence researcher working with his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) to create the first superintelligence work on uploading minds into machines before they’re killed during a public event by anti-technology extremists protesting against their research which leads them to try saving him using technology he previously worked on in order for him to continue leading this project but it soon becomes more than just restoring one man when other people connected to this program receive similar abilities too.
