When you’re hanging out with your friends, what’s the best thing to do? Watch a movie! That’s why I wanted to share my top 15 favorite movies that probably the best movies to watch with friends. These movies can be enjoyed by anyone and will make any night more enjoyable. So if you’re looking for a good time, check these out!
1.The Hangover
First on the list is The Hangover. This movie follows a group of friends who go out for their bachelor party in Las Vegas and get into all sorts of crazy shenanigans. Along the way, they lose one friend after another until finally finding him passed out at his bachelor party with no memory of what happened to him or where he went. They have an epic night on their hands as they try to figure everything out before it’s too late!
The Hangover was such a huge hit that there were two sequels made and I’m sure we’ll see even more eventually! It has all the best components: Raunchy humor, inappropriate jokes, awkward situations…everything you need for laughs when hanging out with your buddies.
This film won’t disappoint you
2. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
Next on my list is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. This is a sequel to Jumanji, which was about Robin Williams and his two kids being sucked into this board game where they have to play through all of it without getting hurt in order to get back home.
In this movie, four high school students are doing detention who find an old video game console with a single cartridge inside that looks like their latest English assignment”A Video Game Without Rules.” The second they turn it on, everything around them begins transforming into footage from the game as if reality has been completely replaced! It’s up to these teens now – plus their teacher and one of her daughter’s friends (who happen also be in detention) -to put together clues from both worlds to finish the game.
3. Mean Girls
The third best movie to watch with friends is Mean Girls. It’s a comedy about three girls who are outsiders in high school and how they take on the most popular girl, Regina George, played by Lindsay Lohan. No matter what she does, it doesn’t seem like these three can get anything done right! This film has always been a favorite of mine because I could relate to Cady (played by Amanda Seyfried) as an outsider trying to fit in – just wanting someone to stop treating you differently than everyone else because you’re different. The way this movie portrays that never-ending feeling alone makes me feel better when I’m being put down for something I have no control over.”Regina George is so much fun!”
4. Pitch Perfect
Pitch Perfect is a movie that won’t disappoint you for sure! This is a comedy about three girls who are outsiders in high school and how they take on the most popular girl, Regina George, played by Lindsay Lohan. No matter what she does, it doesn’t seem like these three can get anything done right! This film has always been a favorite of mine because I could relate to Cady (played by Amanda Seyfried) as an outsider trying to fit in – just wanting someone to stop treating you differently than everyone else because you’re different. The way this movie portrays that never-ending feeling alone makes me feel better when I’m being put down for something I have no control over.”Regina George is so much fun!
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2
This is a film about how an American pilot and his five teammates are hired to defend the galaxy from evil forces led by Korath, but they’re not alone in their mission. Along with Quill (played by Chris Pratt) come Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax, Rocket Racoon, Baby Groot, and Mantis – all of them trying to save the world as well as find themselves along the way! I love this movie because it’s so funny with tons of action scenes that never get boring. The best part of Guardians Vol.II in my opinion is when Peter discovers there’s another person out there who has been kidnapped like him named Ego played by Kurt Russell). It was really cool to see what happens when they meet each other.
6. Spider-Man: Homecoming
This is a really good movie because the action never gets old and it has a very fresh take on Peter Parker, being that he’s in high school. He can’t quite do anything right but his quips make up for it! I also like how this film incorporates Tony Stark into Spider-Man’s life as well as adding more to Aunt May, who didn’t play an important role previously. It makes you laugh out loud a lot and has some really cool twists along the way too.
I love all of these movies so much because they are funny, intense when needed be and have something in them that everyone will enjoy such as romance or comedy scenes which make them perfect for any kind of night with friends!
7. Split
There is no way to leave Split out of this list. It is such a contemporary and disturbing thriller. James McAvoy plays Kevin, who suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. Too many personalities live inside his head, but there are some identities that he needs to keep buried because they’re too terrible for the outside world…
The split will have you on edge as the film explores how people cope with trauma in their pasts while also making sure that it’s not just another predictable horror movie like most Hollywood churning out these days!
I would recommend this one for when it’s late at night or if you want something more intense than your usual comedy outing with friends.
This creepy psychological thriller about three girls kidnapped by a man with 23 different personalities is twisted and suspenseful.
8. Black Panther
Another Great movie by Marvel Studios, and one of the best superhero movies to date! I love this movie because it’s refreshingly different from other Marvel films.
The story is well-written and has a good balance between action scenes and emotional moments that will make you laugh or cry. This is a great example of how diversity can be empowering in Hollywood. ***** SPOILER ALERT: I would not recommend watching if you haven’t seen Avengers Infinity War yet…
9. La La Land
On position number 9, I would like to talk about La la Land.
This is a musical movie starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as struggling artists who come together through their love of music, despite the fact that they are not always on the same page.
The film follows Mia (Emma Stone) as she struggles with finishing her degree in order to be able to work for an architecture firm while also working part-time at a restaurant so that she can try and save up enough money for its expensive fees. Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) starts off by being rather aloof but eventually develops feelings for Mia which leads him into following all sorts of long-shot bursts of creativity such as starting his own jazz band or cooking the food he knows will impress her.
10.Toy Story
This one is a classic for sure. My personal opinion is that it’s one of the best movies ever to watch with friends because there are so many different things going on at once, but they’re all still interconnected in some way or another.
The plot follows a group of toys who have been played with for years by their owner Andy which leads them into being forgotten and left alone while he goes off to college. The adventure begins as Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) sets out to find Andy and bring him back home before his step-sister gets her hands on the rest of them.
Toy Story has always been my favorite Pixar movie because I think its message about growing up resonates well for kids and adults alike despite being released over 20 years ago.”
11. The Breakfast Club
From toys to the breakfast club, John Hughes’ 1985 classic is a must-watch if you want to have an enjoyable day with your friends.
This movie follows five teenagers from different high school cliques as they spend Saturday in detention where they’ll be forced to confront their problems and find out more about themselves than ever before.”
The Breakfast Club does what all great teen movies should do: it shows the most basic of human truths–that life can suck and also be really hard but that’s no reason not to keep living.
It’s a film that centers on self-discovery, changing attitudes, growing up, and being true to yourself”Your best friend might still like this one!”
12. Clueless
Clueless is the quintessential teen movie about growing up and being true to yourself.
Cher is a popular high schooler who has it all, but deep down she’s actually very lonely until she gets the chance to hang out with her new stepbrother in Beverly Hills.”Your best friend might still like this one!”
Clueless starts off as just another light-hearted comedy but becomes a story of self-discovery for Cher that will resonate with teens everywhere.
The film also features an ensemble cast that includes Elisa Donovan, Paul Rudd, and Alicia Silverstone – three actors from other John Hughes films (Donovan: The Breakfast Club; Rudd: Sixteen Candles) “Alicia played Cher brilliantly”
This 1995 classic was directed by Amy Heckerling.
13. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Even the name of this 1986 classic is iconic.
In the film, clever high school senior Ferris Bueller fakes an illness to take a day off from school and spends it in downtown Chicago with his girlfriend and best friend. “John Hughes’s writing was always so witty”
As seen through the eyes of these three friends living in a wealthy Chicago suburb during one eventful spring break, we see how humorously they react to sex, drugs, parents – all while balancing life as teenagers!
This American coming-of-age comedy is often ranked among America’s most beloved films (and rightfully so).
14. Home Alone
Who doesn’t know about Home Alone? It’s a Christmas movie and is such an iconic film. It has everything you want in a good comedy: family, holiday spirit, funny moments, and suspenseful scenes.
The best part of this movie to me is that it takes place during the holidays when everyone should be at home with their families celebrating together. This would also make for some great viewing if you are hanging out with friends over winter break!
I could watch this movie all year round but I think watching it on TV while snow falls outside your window brings back memories from childhood Christmases as well as being able to share those warm feelings with close ones who may not have had any themselves growing up.
Number 14) Home Alone – A classic!
15. Legally Blonde
Last on my list is Legally Blonde. If you’re looking for a feel-good comedy to watch with friends, this is the one!
The best part of this movie to me is that it takes place during the holidays when everyone should be at home with their families celebrating together. So that was the list of my favorite movies to watch with friends!
It’s not a definitive list and I’m sure people will disagree with some of my selections, but it is just an opinion.
