The movie “the platform” is a new release that has been garnering some attention. It has been getting rave reviews and people are praising the actors for their performances. What makes movies like the platform so special? In this post, we will explore 25 movies similar to the platform and discuss what they have in common with it!
Why these movies are worth watching:
First of all, movies like the platform are worth watching because they have great stories with memorable characters. These films often focus on themes that are relevant to everyday life and stories about important issues in society. They tend to feature strong actors who bring their roles to life through powerful performances!
One movie is based upon true events which makes it even more interesting for viewers. Another reason why these movies are so good is that they take place around specific time periods that help set the tone of each scene or event happening within them. Finally, most top-rated movies share some common traits such as an impactful ending – one you can’t stop thinking about days after seeing it!
One great movie that is similar to the platform is “parasite.” In this film, a young couple suddenly finds themselves in dire financial straits. The husband works at a restaurant and his salary barely covers their living expenses let alone their student debts or future dreams of owning a home together! Although it seems like there’s no way out for them, they soon find someone offering an interesting job opportunity… but does accepting come with consequences?
Another popular movie that’s worth watching if you loved the platform is called “Snowpiercer.” This film tells the story of a revolution aboard a massive train. The main character tries to lead his people in an uprising against those who are running things onboard their home – all while trying not to get imprisoned or killed along the way!
High-Rise (2015) is about living within an apartment building where things begin to spiral out of control when there becomes such a lack of resources that people start going crazy! While it has been compared with “the platform” because they are both movies set in apartments buildings, I think that this one stands on its own quite well. If you liked “the platform,” then you should definitely check out High Rise!
Ready or Not (2019)
Third on the list of Movies like the Platform is Ready or Not. Ready or Not is a movie that came out in February 2019 and has been getting some attention. It tells the story of a newlywed couple who lives with them being stalked by their family members. The wife’s brother comes to visit, but he suddenly dies during dinner which causes tensions within the household to rise even further! In this adaptation from France, there are several people living inside an apartment building where they begin turning against each other as paranoia sets in leading up to one big twist at the end! While it features many similar themes like “the platform,” I cannot say whether it does a good job standing on its own because I have not seen enough movies set in apartments for me to compare these two films fairly.
The high-rise is a movie that I watched and enjoyed a lot. The premise of the story was interesting, but what really drew me in were all of the characters who you could not help but feel drawn towards them. and that is why I have included it in the Movies like the Platform list.
The Hunt (2012)
I am a big fan of Mads Mikkelsen’s work, and the Hunt is one of my favorite movies. I was impressed by how he had to play two different roles in this movie, but you could clearly tell which role belonged to each man. It really makes you think about what it means to be human!
Cube is a movie that I have always loved. The premise of the story was so unique and interesting, plus it has been one of my family’s favorite movies since we discovered it years ago!
This Japanese dystopian film is one of the most disturbing movies I have ever watched. In this story, a class of high school students is taken to an island where they must fight each other until only one person remains standing. The movie was based on a novel by Koushun Takami and was produced in Japan in 2000. When it first came out, critics were divided between those who praised its exploration of teenage violence and others who found it too shocking for mainstream audiences. This controversial status has made Battle Royale very popular with young people looking for something that will catch their attention! It has a lot of similarities with our targeted movie and we added it to Movies like the Platform because of that.
This Indonesian martial arts film tells the story of an elite police squad that infiltrates a tower block full of criminals.
