There are many things that can keep you up at night. Maybe you’re trying to finish a project, or maybe you’re just bored and don’t know what to do with yourself. I know the feeling all too well! When it’s time for bed, but there’s nothing on TV, sometimes the best thing to do is find a great movie to watch before drifting off into sleep. Here are 10 of my favorite movies that will help lull anyone into dreamland in no time flat!
10 of the Best Movies to Fall Asleep To in 3,2,1
The Lion King
The Lion King is one of my all-time favorite movies! I used to watch it with my sister when we were kids, and even now I love cuddling up on the couch with a blanket and watching this Disney classic. It’s hard not to get sleepy while listening to Elton John sing or looking at beautiful animation. If you’re in need of something more recent, The Jungle Book has some great tunes too!
This movie might be best for little ones because there are so many lullabies sung by characters throughout the film that will make anyone feel drowsy. Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep before they sit down though–the plotline can really freak out younger children who aren’t familiar with how stories
Finding Nemo is another movie that’s perfect for little ones who are just learning to watch films. It has some really darling tunes, like “Under the Sea” and “Kiss the Girl.” I was a little too old when it came out but my sister loves this one! If you’re looking for something more recent, The Peanuts Movie might be best because it doesn’t have any darkness or scary moments so your kid will feel relaxed and loved while watching it.
You can even sing along with Snoopy as he sings his own songs at the beginning of the film–it will make anyone want to curl up in their PJs afterward!
Number three is the UP. This one is a little bit different than the other movies on this list–it’s more of an animated film. It starts out with old man Carl who has just lost his wife and wants to fulfill their dream of going to Paradise Falls in South America, but he can’t do it by himself so he ties thousands of balloons around his house and sets off!
The storyline follows people that live at Adventureland–a place full of fun things like rides, games, ice cream cones, cotton candy – you name it. You’ll get caught up in all the adventure as well as make some new friends along the way including Russell (the boy scout), Dug (who has four legs!), Kevin (whose family lives nearby), and Mr. Ray.
Toy Story 3
Another 3d modeled animated movie, Toy Story is a story about toys that come alive when humans are not around. It’s been over 20 years since the original Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear has encountered some trouble during this time. The first two movies were set in Andy’s room as he grew up – but now it looks like they’re going to be bumped out of their house!
The latest edition follows Woody (the cowboy) and his friends who wind up at Sunnyside Daycare where they meet new toys including Lotso bear- the friendly-looking teddy bear with a secret; Ken doll- Barbie’s boyfriend; Big Baby an enormous toddler, Chuckles the clown toy whose best friend was just sold!, and last but not least Mr. Potato Head
Don’t worry about being scared off by the “monsters” in this movie – it’s more about monsters that are afraid of children! James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) and his colleague Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) work at Monsters Inc., a company specializing in monsters who scare human kids to turn on their bedroom lights as they go to sleep
Monsters, Inc.’s best-kept secret is an energy-depleting monster child named Boo whose laughter has just become power source enough to run the city
The plot follows Sully and Mike trying desperately trying to keep Boo from getting discovered while she explores Monkees Industries headquarters and sneaking around with her new friends Sulley and Mike teach themselves how to be parents
This movie will put you to sleep and its 6th on the list of “best movies to fall asleep to”
It’s a Pixar movie which means it has stunning visuals, endearing characters, and an engaging storyline. The story follows Remy who wants nothing more than to become a chef despite his family of rats being looked down upon by society. He eventually gets what he wants but soon realizes that life as a rat in the kitchen isn’t easy because humans are at least twice as big making every task much more difficult for him and even worse they don’t know how to handle such a small creature! We won’t spoil anything else about this film so go watch it yourself if you’re into movies with heartwarming messages
Now we will move away from animated films. Next up is Forrest Gump who takes us on an amazing journey through the 1960s and 1970s as he meets a variety of historical figures like John Lennon, Elvis Presley, President Kennedy, or Lyndon B Johnson. The film follows his life from childhood to adulthood where he starts out at junior high school but quickly progresses onto college and eventually becomes one of America’s best runners in history! There are plenty more funny moments for you to look forward to when watching this movie.
It’s a Wonderful Life
Definitely one of the most inspiring movies of all time, It’s a Wonderful Life gives us the pleasure to enjoy watching James Stewart playing George Bailey who is in despair.
George has made some mistakes and wants to take his life but an angel intervenes and shows him what would happen if he had not been born; his town where everyone lives would be completely different without having someone like himself there.
It’s a movie with heartwarming messages about never giving up on your dreams!
Close to the end of the list is. Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day is a movie about an arrogant man who starts experiencing the same day over and over again. As he goes on repeating this “unique” experience, he becomes more humble and tries to make better decisions in life.
The best part of this movie that it’s not just great for making you sleep but also makes you think which would be one of the reasons why so many people still love watching it even after all these years!
It’s a fun way to have your mind occupied before bedtime since there are no monsters or scary things like in other movies – instead, we’re dealing with complex philosophical questions here!
The Princess Switch
And the last movie on the list is The Princess Switch!
The Princess Switch was the last movie I watched and I managed to sleep through it in no time. It’s not that this film is bad – it has some good moments but there are just so many other better options out there on this list!
It’s not only perfect for kids but adults too! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it if you give it a chance
